A Secret Wedding

I didn't consider it an elopement until I read Webster's definition.(Yes I still have, and read, a paperback dictionary.)  According to Mr. Webster, to elope means to run away secretely, especially in order to get married. She ran away, but called home two days later to let everybody know what was going on - it was, in fact, a wedding. With a beautiful bride, a white clap-board church, and a handsome, youngish groom. And we were so blessed to be a part of it.

The Champions and McKees

Mr. and I have often said that if we had it to do over again we would elope and then come back and have a big party. The ceremony today was perfect. Just the couple, the minister, few family and fewer friends. But really, only three are needed at a wedding ceremony. The vows are between the couple and God, no one else. And this couple is one of my favorites. For a guy we never thought would get married, he found himself a jewel. As Mae says, "She's beauuuuutiful." When the groom said his vows, I knew he meant it.  I could here it in his voice that this is a forever deal. The beautiful bride softly repeated her vows. She spoke only to her groom, the onlookers a brief afterthought.

Ya'll ready?
The vow.
The prayer.
Happy Day!
